Eco Tourism Destinations in India




Eco tourism this word is very familiar for nature loving traveller.And Eco tourism is just like a holy for them with diversity of the world’s natural and cultural environment. Eco tourism places are spread all over India in form of glaciers, Coffee plantation, Backwater, trekking, and desert.

Some of the amazing Eco-tourism places in India are:


It is known as the Scotland of India with dense forested steep hill. Misty hills, blinding fog, lush forests, orange groves, Nagarhole National Park and breathtaking views of the valley makes it a perfect eco-tourism destination. A number of rivers like Cauvery, originate from this place making river rafting and white water adventure more joyous.



Himalayas

The Himalayan mountain region has variety in wildlife resource. Medicinal herbs , forests of Sal, Teak and Shisham,variety of Chir (Pine), Oak, Deodar, Fir, Rhododendron, Birch and Juniper,species of animals and birds in this region. Some areas declared as National Park for the conservation and protection of wildlife in the Himalayan region are – Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand; The Great Himalayan National Park, Himachal Pradesh; Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh; The Royal Chitwan Park, Nepal.


Garhwal is flourishing with natural resources, which can be seen especially in its surroundings. Nature is at its very best in the Garhwal Region. The entire region is blooming in abundance with varied vegetations. A large number of nature lovers, environmentalists and tourists descend upon the region every year.

Luxuriant forests of the Western Ghats, some of the finest Wildlife sanctuaries and National Parks with rare animals, birds, reptiles, insects and plants, exotic locations are some of the most refreshing and revitalizing trekking trails in the country. You can say this region most green area.


Ladakh
Ladakh’s ecosystem is possibly the most unique and by far the most mind-boggling in the world. With its barren plateaus and uplands, Ladakh boasts a distinct alpine, flora and fauna variety. Ladakh houses several flowering plants, a dozen of most rare mammals and over a hundred species of birds in its rugged terrain.

Sikkim
Sikkim with 36% of total land area here is under luxuriant forests. Vegetation including: figs, laurel, sal trees and bamboos can be easily found here. Oak, chestnut, maple, brich alder and magnolia are found in abundance.Sikkim is world famous for its Orchids. Cymbidiums, Cattlelyas, Dendrobiums, Hooheriana, F-ar Amoneum etc are some of the variety of orchids found here.
